How to apply
The applications for the Boren Scholarship and Fellowship are separate and have different instructions.
Below are the application steps:
1) First, apply for the Boren Scholarship or Fellowship. Please wait to submit any other applications until you hear if you have been awarded.
2) Once awarded a Boren Fellowship or Scholarship, UW-Madison and American Councils will send you a welcome letter that will outline the various steps for completing the necessary applications for the domestic summer and the fall overseas components of the program.
Please be prepared for a multi-step application process for the various entities involved. We have done our best to streamline these applications, however there are some unavoidable duplications due to regulations for protected student information. Awardees will not be allowed to participate unless all applications are complete.
